Just a suggestion. ..Try a light behind the backdrop (sheet).asell.. it creates a cool effect and maybe drape it more.

Thank you for the tip, yes it was literally the first time I used my DSLR fo anything other than a point and shoot. I wasn't pleased with this image, it's not even in focus for god's sake...but she trumped my vote...lol (Of course) I literally duct taped a old curtain to the bedroom wall lol Ghetto Fab Photography Co. at your service hahahah

well keep at it for sure..you recognise your errors. and use creative thinking.
Myself, just left point and shoot mode last fall..Ive used tape, toothpicks and even screws to prop things up..$10 lights, with DOF backdrops that look cool from ordinary household junk.

DOF would of blurred out your sheet if she was closer to the camera.. so by all means, play around with the features...who knows..maybe you can talk her in to doing more shots. cause you want to practice.
