Author, I like your image. IMHO it relies too much on 3D mesh. Still, you got a good vote.
For the sake of those reading the previous comment.
Photoshop Guidelines 5.8: "In case you use premade models, always link to the page where the model is from. Be aware that these models have to be free to use."
There is no such thing as too many meshes in the guidelines. It's only opinion and everybody has one. In fact, the Photoshop CS6 Ext 3D environment can be more difficult and challenging to work within than the 2D environment. So, IMHO, I disagree.
Author you should understand that historically PS contests were meant to be chops created with 2D graphics programs. As Pxleyes developed along with the CG programs 3D was allowed to be a part of the generic "Photoshop" term used to categorize these contests. The comment made by CMYK46 is polite and states that it is his opinion. That opinion is shared by many long time members, myself included and we are entitled to that opinion. I also like your entry and gave you a fair vote but I much prefer seeing skillful 2D manipulation over the use of 3D images in PS contests.
Happy little march through commercialism, hehehe great take on the source and fun 3D... very PIXAR
Thanks!
I like the mickey mouse touch..
It had to be there since Disney is Darth's new Father.
The light sources from the BG are casting shadows towards the viewer and in your case you've cast your shadow of 'Vader Boy' away from the viewer, the shadows are all quite 'diffused' (not sure that's the right word for what I'm trying to convey but it's close enough :P) while your shadow is pretty clear and defined, also with that bulb casting light on the floor behind him the shadow would be minimal and wouldn't reach into the light... Of course you could also argue that there is a light source off camera that you can't see, so could explain the direction of the shadow.... (either way, it still wouldn't really reach into the light pool on the floor)...
I've also just noticed that the light hitting the ears is casting a shadow in the direction OF the light source too....
On a plus, it's an imaginative entry GL author.
Howdie stranger!
