Yes, the tree is basically only one branch, but every branch is modified by the axis and scaled.
When it comes to the DOF background... Personally I'm not fan of background images. Sometimes a cool background image makes the impact of the vote result and in my opinion, that's not entirely honest. So I make my own, even if its a lot of work just to make a small detail. After all, that's whats 3d modeling is all about

Too dark. The tree house looks like its suspended in front of the tree, because you can't make out the back very well. The source lighting just doesn't make sense with such a dark environment. If the "sun" is setting, there would be more contrast, with a more defined light source direction. The light source appears to be almost suspended facing the tree house, which is too high for a sunset. If the "sun" is peeking through the dark clouds, there would be more ambient light.

It's too dark, and there's too much wasted (empty) space on the RH side. You should crop it to better emphasize your focal point, and bring up the lighting so people can make out what they are looking at. It looks like some multi-legged creature with a house for a head.

Makes me think of Baba-Yaga.

well, kinda weird but cool... ravens are so fatal and so the house is... the raven can mean there is some life in the field of death contrastly therewith. i think the house means that as well. the composition is so complementary.

The lighting is kinda wonky...Is it nighttime, with a really bright field light shining on them? Also the refraction on the ball is so bright it almost looks ready to burst into flames...

The concept is very cute, but the effect is still a bit too rough.

Overall I love the setting of this and admire all the work you did. However, the vertical posts and steps of the staircase in the front look odd due to their 'ripples'. It would make more sense to use those as the reflections, and keep the posts more straight. This would be a great place to go hang out if it were real!
