Hrm, how would the balls go down the holes if they are floating?

the balls will go down the same way the water goes down. The water is continuosly circulated to maintain the level within the pool area (similar to an infinity edge swimming pool)

The blue felt looks very flat. Perhaps a bit of subtle texture would help.
The floor texture is too large (trees and wood floors simply don't come that large...) It makes the pool table look like a plastic toy.

i like the creativeness in this image, i thin it is fine just the way it is..good luck author.

I agree with MossyB's comments, but I am trying a new renderer tool that I am not well familiar yet. I will explore it a little bit more. If I find a solution I will post soon.
