Contest goal:
Are you up to the challenge? For this contest, your goal is to model something "organic". Not just organic... it must be "living" as well and be part of the invertebrate family.
Organic modeling is not for the faint of heart. Terms like edge loop, quads, n-gons, topology, etc. are used casually with in this workflow, so a good understanding of your chosen application and a sub-division surface is necessary to produce a clean model and a realistic render.

Wow i would swear it was real! Very nicely done author. I think you need to do some more working on the shadows, looks a bit pasted on the leaf.
