Rendering a card board box in 3D is not that hard to do, it is harder to be creative with it. That's what this contest is about: render a 3D card board box and show us a use of it we never thought of; house a new world in it, give it legs and a head and turn it into an animal...The only restriction in this contest is to have the card board box dominant and recognizable in your entry.
Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
SaEllisson: Does the whole thing have to be in a box form? (like a cube shape) Or can we use different shapes, say to make a pair of legs out of carboard that arent cube shape. ( 5 years and 2922 days ago )
Contest Moderator: @SaEllisson: the description says you need to do something with a card board box, this means you have to use a box shape to start with ( 5 years and 2915 days ago )
mircea: ok.. basicaly another cubes contest :headbash: ( 5 years and 2914 days ago )

Really nice job, but those eyes are just too large, and come across more as "alien creepy," rather than "cute and adorable..." It's the light reflections - 3 is too many, especially with two of them being so large in proportion to the amount of light generated in the scene.
This is adorable, definaltley a favorite!
The eyes are perfect, they come across as cute and cartoonish IMO. After all it doesn't look like your intentions were to be super realistic, so good job!
The lighting looks like its in a living room or lit by small lamps rather then a large overhead light. This is realistic and look warm, inviting and very good.
The fragile sign is awesome, looks like its about to fall off at any time. Very much aww factor in this entry!
how did you get such good UV's for the fur map? did you have to paint out the fur in PS and then apply the depth of field pass including the Fur. What render layers did you render out to get the short depth of field and fuzzy feel to the image. Can you add a snapshot of your UV's to show how you controlled the fur, because the image is awesome, but I think people need to know how you did it.
