One of my favorite Photography contests is the "Favorite Book" contests. Choose one of the entries from either contest and model it. Here are the links:
dante: can we choose our own books and what about the covers which are copyrighted? ( 5 years and 2299 days ago )
Contest Moderator: @Dante: the book has to be a book which is visible in one of the entries (do not forget to link to the entry), about the copyright of the covers: you are allowed to use any copyrighted book covers in this contest BUT only only the covers may be copyrighted! downoffthedragon: I am ecstatic that my suggestion was chosen. But these are not the contests that I put in my suggestion. I suppose that the contests that I listed do not have as many entries, but there are not a lot of 3D modelers here. The contests that you posted here to choose from...well, the entries are kind of boring. They are nice for photography, but for 3D modeling they're not very interesting at all! I am a bit disappointed. ( 5 years and 2295 days ago )
Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
My only concern is that that red book seems to be reflecting the glasses. It shouldn't be reflective at all, I don't think. There should be shaddows cast on the book, and the light passing through the lenses should be show on the book like in the source image. But your book is oddly reflective for the material it is made of!

Hello
I am agree with your comments.
I do the modification for the book reflection and replace the picture.
For the light reflection of the glasses, i don't have the solution for the moment but i do new light test...
Author. I found it. It's called caustics. Look that up and see if it is something that you would like to add to your image to make it better. If not, the image is pretty good. But caustics gives light that quality it has when it passes through a refractive surface, like water or glass and lands on another surface, in this case the book.
Author!!! Fantastic job! Now I can cast my vote! I am very glad that I was able to help you. I am not a 3D master, or anything. But I have been in school for animation for a while, which is why you don't see a lot of entries from me. I just don't always have the time for my own projects. But I like to see what other people have submitted and critique them, and see others' critiques. Makes my own projects better. I hope that this was a good experience for you, too!
