Create any object you want, but do this the Steampunk way. The object can be a machine, a animal etc. as long it looks like Steampunk. For those who don't know what this is:
"Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered, retro-futuristic machinery, inspired by the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West". Examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of such technology as lighter-than-air airships, analog computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine."

To make things a bit easier, you could only show a detail / close-up view of the object you've created, as long we can guess what kind of object you've created (don't show just a few gears and tell us it's a car).

Dear Moderator: I did not list link to an external source because this image did not use one. All material come from the Visualization package that come with C4D this include the HDRI that made up the background of this image.
Don't forget to mention the background source
Otherwise, remove the background completely... it will make your model stand out more I think

There is no back ground image used. The background you see is the HDRI environment.

This is fantastic work - It is clean and very creative - the blending work is superbly done and the layout and color scheme are really well thought out. One of my favorites.
Nice modeling. I cant get my head around Zbrush for mechanical modeling. All i use it for is Texture (Normal/bumps) and adjustment of model created in other program.

me neither, I modeled the mechanical parts in Blender and finished in zbrush

Superbly done - this is really something to look at and looks very realistic. I like the natural background selection.
