Since I never got to finish my entry for Mars colony last week I have decided to take part of it. The Alien Power Hub and adapt it for this contest.
The glowing object is the core. A fusion reactor balanced by the magnets all the way around. They also pull the power from the orb and transmit it wirelessly into the base plates below. (5 years and 2620 days ago)

IMO I would increase the contrast of the image just to make the vibrant colours stand out a bit more

Very cool entry, I like the hippy feel to this. I would have liked to see a double render, this shot of the close up and another from a bit more of a distance at a downward angle to show the surfboards etc.
