This is absolutely stunning, check it out in High Res, and then enlarge it. Wonderful detail. Such a beautiful photograph/
I totally agree with Vibeke.Perfect framing, light metering, exposure(I really like the texture of the water) & the colors are so natural! This has to be the best photos I'v see from you author.Respect....
Masterpiece .....
Amazing! Absolutely gorgeous. Where is this place at....I want to go there. lol
what is that blurry thing on the top right
May be it's lens flare. It looks like the sun is against the camera (the sky at that point is a little blown out).
May be....!!!!
Great!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I'll post where it is after the contest closes so it doesn't hurt anonymity
Wow!!!
stunning... perfect... impressive...
Let me add my 2 cents, I agree, what a great picture, author, just one thing, at the left side - bottom stairs, what is that, is tha a persona crouching/laying down or is it a backpack.. can´t make it out.
That is a backpack someone left. I had to wait about an hour to get a shot without people. I wasn't going to go move it as it only stayed deserted for a minute or so.
Thanks for your comments, everyone. This shot was taken at Watkins Glen State Park in southern New York. It was a beautiful, fall crisp day filled with just site after site.
Congratulations on 1st place, totally deserved. Love how people have really examined this on in detail.

In the stillness when the sun is just beginning to come up. (5 years and 2361 days ago)
I left a comment but it didn't seem to show up so I will say it again - This is one very nice looking photograph and would look very nice hanging on my wall as a nice piece of art.
Thank you very much. ...and...I'm sure we could work out some way you could send me lots of money for fine art!
Yes Sir, that's amazing!
lovely mood, well done for getting out early.
love it!
This photo is felt with the heart more than seen with the eyes. Absolute perfection.

Simply beautiful composition, and an awesome photo. Excellent lighting, contrast and focus. Exceptionally well done!
Very nice ! Love the black contrast.
Love the colour, love the object selection, love the lighting and all of them are made even more pronounce by having simple black background. Well done

Congrats on 2nd place, this is such a great shot, just your bad luck that James decided to enter this contest.
Thanks. Story of my life
(but I can't begrudge James. That was a really nice shot. It's good to see him back)
