The selective desaturation doesn't really work well for this image. You've emphasized the grass, rather than your subject.

I agree with ponti about your image extration; but it's a great and creative idea!
But looking at the original source (girl), she is under the sun; background image is a bit cloudy... and I suppose the girl casts a shadow on the sand.

erikuri, I have now posted my SBS. As you can see - there is NO shadow under the original girl that's why I didn't put one! I can do nothing at all (as far as I know) about the cloudy background image - that's the original untouched. I appreciate your comments - keep them coming...

Great idea! I also agree that the masking is a bit soft. I would suggestion using the pen tool to extract and then blurring the mask afterwards to taste. Good luck!

Nice! But why is the ball behind the picture, not in front of that?

Technically pretty well done, but as erikuri already mentioned I dont get well why the ball is behind the frame. The shadow from the frame that falls on the ball makes the ball also more flat. Is it an option to let the ball go out of the frame instead? Good luck!

The lamp looks quite nice. Problem is just that -like the glasses on the table- the lamp is too sharp compared to the other source that you used. If you could give the glass parts some blur, it likely would fit better in the image. Good luck!
