The lightning is my favorite part. The river reflections are of tall trees along the river's edge -- except there aren't any such trees here. (Reflections are the same size as that which they are reflecting.)

Author I like your idea here, very nice. Just as some suggestions, I would use a small diameter brush and blur around the edges of the costume to take the edge off, maybe put a tad of a shadow at the hat line to ground it, and a little burn tool work at the neck line to give it some depth or shadow. This is a good looking piece in my opinion keep it up.

Yeah I tried to make the edges less sharp but it did not turn out well so I just kept it like this =P

How about trying to use dodge tool on fin and tail to make it lighter? The source you used has a dark background, and the image you did is light... and you know, those golden fish have almost see-through fins and tails!

What erikuri said, also, the hull should be visible below the waterline.
