Trees, door, flags and mountains are from Wikipedia. Too many sources :) (5 years and 1600 days ago)
Love what you did here, but maybe it is a bit to much saturated? The whole image has a nice pastel-like color feeling, except for the balloon. Maybe you can fix that?
Anyway: to me the best entry so far in this contest!
Very good points, I struggled a lot with the balloon and in the end you just go blind I guess. I have reduced the saturation of the balloon a lot and also on the picture as a whole slightly. Thanks.
Think we all struggle at some point and get blind to a lot of obvious things. I'm notorious for making at least 3 adjustments after I put my entries up
I like the blending you made. Cool image.
Thank you George
You do have some problems with the source links you've posted. The sources from deviantArt are okay. The sources from wikimedia should be okay but you used the download page links. You must use the link that shows the image and the usage terms for the image.
Source 2 doesn't show the specific image, you must link to the page with the image used and it must show usage terms as well. If it's in public domain the link should show that. Sources 6, 7, and 8 are also download links, these don't show us the terms of usage. You have to replace the links and show the pages with the image and the usage terms.
Source 9 doesn't show any image again you must use the link showing the image and the usage terms.
You should make these corrections as soon as possible. The contest moderator will allow you some time since I posted this comment to help you but if you don't fix the links soon you will get a warning and your entry will be removed until you make the explained corrections.
Ok, all the links are now fixed. All images are under the creative commons license and should be ok.
Perfect author! Just as it should be. Nice work as well!
Super Nifty Reminds me of Around the World in 80 days
Thank you! Yes I actually had that and some other works in the back of my head when I made it.
Very dramatic and fantastic. See the edges of boots are smooth and the balloon is sharper, That's the mismatch I felt. By the way I can see the flags waving with the wind then why shluldnt it affect the smoke?
Never mind, That wont stop me from giving you a high marks. Good luck author
Thanks, yeah let's not talk about the balloon
Funny you should mention the smoke. I actually realized that right in the end but hade already merged my layers and made some changes to the picture. So I tried to alter the smoke but it didn't look good and I was to lazy to go back and redo it, haha.
Thanks for your comment!

I was experimenting with a melting effect and thought it turned out pretty good. Using him as a Christmas ornament was just to get into the right Christmas spirit :)
There is a SBS if you are interested to know how it was made.

Great work on the lighting. Very believable image, and thorough SBS.
Thank you, glad you like it!
Great melting work !
Thanks!
This is the kind of work that kept us going in the beginning , and the quality of work that will inspire us in the future. The magic here is the lighting, the idea is simplistic genius. Great piece.
This is the type of comment that I was striving for in the beginning and that will inspire me to improve in the future. Eloquent and motivating. Great comment!

Thank you! There was actually a lottery with all the members and you won so you get the honors of cleaning up
You know, I heard about a woman who swam across the English Channel three times, and when an interviewer asked her why she did it, she said, "I wanted to do something that was never done before."...
Stupid Woman! If she wanted to do something that has never been done before, she could have vacuumed my apartment.
(I stole that from Rita Rudner... shhhh! don't tell anyone.
I love the lighting too. Good work.
Beautiful. I have tried many times to melt things in Photoshop but all my results were more than awful
Wow, great job! I can't say anything that wasn't already mentioned, but when I first saw it I thought you had made it into a candle. Well done.
Congratulations....
Nice work, congrats!

Nice take on the source, what's left of it LOL.. great job
Thank you
Excellent work, author! I only wish this was available on a higher resolution!
Thank you! I normally start out with a 1200x1000 pixel document as I want the viewer to be able to see the whole image without looking at high res. It is also easier to find sources of good quality when the image is smaller.
I don't expect anyone to use these picture for anything
Good 'fire works' excellent chop author
