This photo shows such good composition, I wanted to simply give it a more "painterly" feel, digital style... (5 years and 2542 days ago)

Well done, high mark. Only one thing that I noticed, there is a weird green spot on her head (top right), seems like it needs some retouching.
Yup, I see it...NOW. Thanks!
It's late, and my eyes are crossing tonight. Will fix it in the morning. Thanks again!
U did great job author...with few minor tweaks this can be perfect...Mikael is right about upper right part and maybe u could use smudge tool to create few hairs that out of the hair line to achieve more natural and realistic look...also just an idea maybe u could create thing that Japanese woman do with the lipstick just in the middle of the lips...
Great, Colection.
sbobet
I contemplated giving her the "full Geisha" makeup, with the snow white foundation, and Geisha "experience" shape (did you know that the size and shape - top, bottom, or both) signify the age and experience of the Geisha?), but felt that would be too far from the "ethnicity."
Hair is SUCH a complicated thing to chop well. Too smooth and it looks cut and paste...I gave her some loose hairs on the RH side, but the ones on the left just didn't look natural...I'll try again.
Thanks for your comments!
Great transformation & SBS...GL author!
Wonderful creation author! greatly!
wow! great job.
great job on the girl love it! It I want to be picky I see that the background looks a bit unnatural. First of all there aren't any shadows under the trees and secondly, more important in my point of view, the very closeup of the face does not allow the background to be in focus. It's unnatural to the human eye, if I look at somethin that close, I see the background out of focus.
It's an "HDR" (High Definition Resolution) shot, so the focus is the same near and far, and the photographer was using a strong umbrella reflector light, so the trees had no shadow...
I do appreciate your comments, thank you for taking the time to point these things out. I learn things I need to improve with every entry, thanks to fellow members like you!
uhm, HDR has nothing to do with the focus, it simply means bringing out details in the very dark and very light areas, thus producing an image with rich details in all light levels. Just for clarification.
Thanks for the clarification...
Don't deal with a sense of humor much, do ya? lol!
c'mon, are you kidding?
Pretty good , right side of the nostril is puffy and there is a lack of definition around the eye tear section.color is slightly washed out but I think I still like it. good luck.
This is well done... but... Asians usually have brown or black eyes...
I know, but then it would not have been much of a manipulation, as I could have just replaced the face with an Asian one...
Great work ! Good luck author !

Lovely!
the front of the hair on her forehead looks pasted...needs shadows IMO otherwise really cool work
You did a fine job. Like nisha suggests a hint of a shadow from the hair on her face would look good.
without hair shadow,looks better
my fav
It's a hard call. The bangs are on her head, not away from it, so shadows would be hard to accurately paint in since they would have to be slightly offset to the right. I've also never seen Manga with shadows on the bangs, so I have a hard time envisioning it...Thank you all, I'm glad you like it!
oh she's bulging out,......very cute......
Great image.
Great job !
The arm on the left looks very awkwardly positioned, almost dislocated. Still overall the image looks good.
Awesome change of picture, I love it! I am going to try this tutorial myself!

Looks good except for the different colored gaps between the rigging. GL ,author.
It was deliberate. The sails are tied and pulled up, and the rigging was just so much essentially straight lines. I decided to selectively "veil" sections between rigging ropes, with some overlays and some gaps. The point being to help encourage the eye to remain and look more at the image. Thank you for your review of my work!
I like this idea...some images are beautiful by themselves...GL
Thank you SO much for relating to my vision with this piece!
Awesome! Makes me see how nice this image would work as stained glass!
