what jawsh is meaning I think, is the focal center of this image is not the center of the thumb or finger. It means that although the dof is good, it is not central to the shot and throws the eye off. The image is oof just above the center of the fingerprint, just where you would expect it to be sharply focused.......

I thought so it seems as though I have a wonky finger print; not a typical round symmetrical one you would see as an archetype
