Looks more like a twisted ladder than a DNA strand. Perhaps if it showed more molecules than just bar shapes...

This is my interpretation of what an award resembling a dna strand would look like and I'd take this design over one where I used 'molecules'.

Looks a bit dull, like you just started and then let it go.. you could add some extra buildings and textures (or some sort of rocket/lander/w'ever) to make it a little more interesting. Maybe some huge moon boulders/rocks and shadows for the background too?
