OMG!!!! This is soooooooo coooooooooool!!!! Definitely my fav in this contest!!
Well done author! And not like you need it but good luck!
You are so gifted author! Love it.
o my o my o my,what a great piece...very well done author
Frikin Wow!!!!!!!!
First off , what do you got like 11 hearts in there? What is so damn cool about this is the way all the curves and arc's seem to flow together. The eyebrows arc matching her hairline and then her eyelids. Wonderful!
Also, Kudos to you for rounding off her chin. The hearts in the eyes as light reflections send this over the top! Her nose is great btw. I hate doing noses!.
And finaly, the color tones are superb! Look out Author ,I think you got some Picasso on you! hehehe
Oh and.............thats 1 down you got 2 more coming right?
Hymmm, !!
Fascinating ... she is wonderful. Love the pursed lips and her overall "look" Great (as usual)!
WONDERFUL!! VERY UNIQUE! LOVESSSSS IT!!!!
is her half - heart shaped ear missing...
luving her hairstyle author....
appreciate the simplicity of colour palette, reduced to neccessity..
oooh wow, thank you guys.
you always make me feel like doing more more more with all these lovely comments!
and, gotmeamuse, it was planned to have everything "echo" each shape...nice to have someone notice all the work i did in planning that out. its fun when something comes together like that. (and yes, i'll fill my quota, i'm quite sure of it.
and everyone else! thank you thank you thank you!
I left her ears out on purpose. and the hairstyle is actually a hat of sorts. and thanks for noticing the color pallete. i purposely used 5 distinct colors.
The muted colors give this a haunting feel. I love it.
lovely painting
i took the time to take a better picture with a real camera instead of my phone. :P lazy artist that i am, i don' always have my camera right there to take a good picture of things when i get them done, and then get all excited to post them and show off. :P
thanks for understanding, and no matter what your votes were, i appreciate every one taking the time to look, and to comment onmy stuff. it means oooooh so very much to me. finally after years of gathering dust, my easel is being used. its even gotten new paint smudges on it thanks to you guys!!!
Wonderful love lady. G/L Author.
I even like this one better than the Doubled Crossed. Maybe it's just the personal impression but I see you, your face, in every portrait entries of yours, that's so interesting.
And 2nd too..... Wow!
I agree with Langstrum. I like this one much better as well but, so what! You got 1st and second!!! Woooo whooooo
and again. WHOA.
what in the world?? have you all gone crazy?? if you have, stay that way! i'm really astounded by the results this week.
Gotmeamuse, you should have beat me on both counts.... those zombies rocked.
THANK YOU ALL. SERIOUSLY. i can't say it enough, but you all are the reasons i post these things. otherwise, they'd be sitting in a portfolio somewhere gathering dust. I love that you all give me a reason to do what i do. *blush*

In the classic version of the siren, they were depicted as half bird, half woman. but after searching the link, i found that they were also depicted as evil versions of the mermaid, set out to lure sailors to their deaths.
i took the concept of the siren and i made it my own. instead of a lovely maiden, i reflected their evil nature in their looks.
Special thanks to Linzee777 @ deviantart for the mermaid tail resource, Sinned-angel-stock for the model. (5 years and 3325 days ago)
Oh that's an amazing scene and idea. I think you should bet more on shading to give it a higher dynamic.
wow thats creepy ! well done
Absolutely fabulous ! 100% on theme. Really beautiful work, high marks from me ! (And why am I not surprised its you ? )
thanks so much everyone. i was so excited to get this uploaded. when i saw the contest, this was one of my first ideas...and it turned out almost exactly like what i'd pictured in my head.
*blush* lamantine, your compliments are always so nice. Are you saying i have a trademark style??
great stuff..... and author u too have a trademark style.... I can recognize you...
It's good to have a style, your own style there's many ppl with a style here, which is not bad in my opinion.
well doesn't she look nice and friendly! LOL Great job on this!
Of course you do
NICE but is the tale premade by another person ??? is that alowed ???
I asked a mod, and this tail is an allowed resource.
it really is no different than using 3d render stocks or .png files that are up as unrestricted sources.
when in doubt, ask. the mods will be quite helpful.
ok verry good GL
OMG Awesomely Spoooooky! Love It
Oh, no, I always got surprised when I see the wonderful stuff that is shown here in this site! Everybody (including the author) is very talented, I have no words.
And this entry is cool, the title really means "evil" deeply! GL!
Thanks so much everyone. really. whenever i have this kind of commenting going on a piece, it makes me feel really great.
erika, you really just made my day with that. i'm honored to be included among all of the talent on this site.
Gia, *blush* thank you!
and thank you for all the favorites too guys. i am very surprised!
That's not surprised to me, author, because I also realized that your style is unique and stable through all of your entries. Your ideas behind the entries easily impress people and your execution is clever. As far as this entry is concerned, you achieved your goal for sure. Even though this contest will be full of mermaids, maybe I won't see any spooky mermaid like that again because that's too difficult to compete with you . I just have a suggestion of increasing the brightness of the whole scene for people to appreciate more what you've done. Best of luck to you
EDIT: Oops, I'm sorry, sometimes siren is depicted as a kind of mermaid but in general they are distinctive.
Wow langstrum *faints* thank you! Such an amazing compliment from someone as talented as yourself! I have been playing with the brightness on this to see if I liked it better and will likely upload an updated version soon.
And, technically, she's not a mermaid but a siren...however, I did seem to make my own version of what I see them as. I remember well homers "oddesey" and this is what I always pictured the sirens...perhaps when they surface they turn beautiful just to help them lure the sailors to their ocean graves.
Am I seeing a Hollywood Movie!!!!!!!, fantastic entry in a fantastic contest. GL
thank you shaadow and Nator. so appreciated.
I did go back and play with some lighting on this, brightened the image quite a bit, and made her face much more visable. Thanks for the suggestions, and hope this pleases your eyes as much as it did mine in the finished stage.
Great!
Looks alot like my childhood swimming instructor, very well done....great image!
Thank you so much!
spooky and dangerous..... good work....gl
Niiiiiiiiiiice!!!!!!!!!

Congrats for your second place!

*UPDATED image...made it a bit lighter so you could see details better, and changed hue..* (5 years and 3388 days ago)
I like this I just wish it was a little brighter, I guess. GL!
Very nice, i like the way you made her face look. I think you should darken the body to create a more spooky effect.
great job here...she;s face is made perfectly...well done
alright jaws, tried to make it a bit lighter...even added a bit of "fog" around her. i think the skin hue change helped to bring out the exposed jaw and teeth.
Akassa, thank you so much for your compliment..i did try to darken just the body which brought out her collar bones more.
Erathion, thank you so much you always leave such nice comments!
It looks good now! GL!
Creepy image, beauty turned zombie.
Congrats! again
