well its kind a good for first work , hmm the glass need to be kinda transparent you can do that by adding come of the background color to it.

It seems a little flat.

What's with the shadow? and the missing parts of the cup and straw?

the shadow should have the same glass shape , to make that all you have to do is ,select the glass then create a shadow on a new layer and rotate it , with time you will do better XD .. gl
