Painting Change - Drawing Contest [7 entries]

Contest goal:

DIGITAL DRAWING: In this contest your goal is to find a painted portrait and replace a part of it with something else that would fit there. For this we will make an exception from the rule that says "artwork as a reference isn't allowed". For example, you can take Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and give her a baseball cap or give Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" a chicken face.

Do not trace the original painting but use it as a reference, a starting point, something to look at and get inspired by.

You can use your own technique as long as parts of the original painting are still recognizable, but do not use any original part of your reference in your entry.

Don't forget to post your reference.

Good luck!

artist3001: Wait I am confused. So we do the following: 1) Find a painted portrait 2) Paint over the image?? 3) Make sure parts of the original image are recognizable . If I understood this right that would be cool! Am I right? ( 5 years and 3483 days ago )
jaescoe21: im a little bi confused myself, but I think you are right Artist. ( 5 years and 3483 days ago )
Contest Moderator: Nope Artist, the painting you'll need to find you use as a reference. This means you can redraw it in your own style and replace a part of that portrait. Please read the rules and guidelines for the definition of 'reference'. Don't use any part of the original painting/reference in your entry! ( 5 years and 3483 days ago )
Contest Moderator: The new rule 7.4 doesn't apply to this contest because the new rule was implemented after this contest started. ( 5 years and 3476 days ago )
wazowski: The submit time is not over yet, but so far there are some pretty nice entries here, well done! ( 5 years and 3469 days ago )

L'innocence Sombre - created by andrej2249

The original is "L'innocence" by William-Adolphe Bouguereau.

This is my first attempt at digital painting (after having a tablet sitting in the corner for a year) and I have to say I'm very satisfied with the result :)

The background was kinda made in a hurry and I'm not gonna have the time to make a new one, so I guess it'll do for now.

Comments and suggestions are always appreciated :) (5 years and 3469 days ago)

References: the two famous painting "Mona Lisa" and "The girl with a pearl earring".
I want to demonstrate here, these paintings used ... one model :D.
About the technique, I just painted on one layer (except the background layer), that's risky but quite convenient to me. Only use the standard brush of Photoshop.
Some changes were made, mostly the background (5 years and 3476 days ago)
