Traditional drawing:
Create a portrait using only circles. However, you are not limited to portraits, draw anything you like, as long as only circles are used. This can even be an abstract drawing. Good luck!
REMEMBER these contests require that you post at least 2 intermediate steps of your drawing in a step by step guide, so we can see the progress of your work.
Here is an example of a portrait made with circles only.
Reference photos are allowed (no copyrighted images), but links should be mentioned in your SBS. Include links for all images.
elinoree: Awww, I was gunna do this, but then saw that it is traditional. The example is a digital Ben Heine, you can get beautiful digital illustrations using a circle tool.

I vote this contest happens again, but for digital drawing! Pweeeeease! ( 5 years and 3221 days ago )
jawshoewhah: It's a traditional art contest but we get a digital art example??? ( 5 years and 3220 days ago )
jadedink: OKAY..mods. questions for you. I get this has to be traditional, but..ummm..do the circles have to be EXACT circles? because..traditionally speaking, i don't use a compass or stencils or anything..and exact circles aren't easy to draw.
beyond that, the digital example makes this contest way to daunting. ( 5 years and 3215 days ago )
Contest Moderator: This is traditional drawing you can use a compass, circle template or even coins or the little washers that fit on screws are a simple aid to draw a circle. If you draw the circles freehand just try to make them as accurate as you can. Drawing freehand circles is a basic practice exercise when learning to draw and a little inaccuracy is to be expected. Just avoid making them too oval. The digital example shown is only to explain what we've described as the goal. ( 5 years and 3212 days ago )
Astroraith: Yo, mods! Question for a new user please? (:
When it says "REMEMBER these contests require that you post at least 2 intermediate steps of your drawing in a step by step guide, so we can see the progress of your work." what is it saying? Like, where do I do this stuff? ( 5 years and 3212 days ago )
Howdie stranger! If you want to participate in this contest, just:
Next time use crop/perspective to trim a rectangular photo.
You could have used green circles, different sizes & tones for the background as well. It would have been more ON theme and more artistic. Great job, non the less.
cheers to you for being the ONLY entrant. and a good entry all the same.
nicely done!!!
