Contest goal:

DIGITAL DRAWING: Most popular during the 17th, 18th, and 19th Centuries, Decorated Initials were often used in Illuminated Manuscripts. They were generally large letters inside of, or bordered by a square, and were placed at the beginning of a paragraph, page, chapter or written work. The decoration could vary from stylized natural forms like leaves and flowers, to ornate illustrations of people and settings within the letter itself, or the letter transformed into something (like a snake forming the letter 'S'). They are often used today for fancy monograms.

The goal: To take any letter and decorate it however you like. The letter you start with can be actual type (but only normal fonts, not the ones, that have fancy decoration already). Read more here.
