I'm sorry if I got the idea for the contest wrong, I was under the impression that the image was to be a hand drawn image of a face expressing an emotion and we were not to use any photoshop to enhance the drawing. By looking at other entries in contest, it seems I may be off theme
It looks perfectly on theme to me! I love the eyes
Yes ponti55 is correct you are on theme. Hand drawings are most acceptable and will be a major part of these contests.
Author.. the only problem I see in this image is that it's perfectly on theme.. and that's not a problem at all (though sadness is a bit to simple.. I'd have preferred Melancholy... just because I see a lot more than just sadness)

to me it looks a bit like a mix between sadness and anger.
I see surprise and sadness at what was seen. Really nice eyes.
