The subjects are my eldest son and his oldest son, I am doing the drawing for my son's birthday present, to go with a drawing my mom had done of my oldest son and I when he was close to his son's age in this picture. So, if you have any suggestions on how to improve the drawing, please help me make it better, I want it perfect for him!

ok, this is a nice drawing, here are my tips for you
, i think it could be a lot darker, i mean the dark should be a good solid black, then fade out from there, i would also try a wider range of pencils
the darker values will also give you some room to shade the skin tones as well
