I wasn't able to finish this how I wanted to, but I hope to work on it a bit in the morning. If not... *runs in circles* Ta-da!
Welcome you to digital drawing contest . I was wondering who is the author . Now you make a superb entry as usual but it seems like you have to revise the reflection of the candles . I found out an excellent reference for that one, hope it helps ^^ http://fineartamerica.com/featured/candle-reflection-robin-lynne-schwind.html
fantastic entry......... good luck.....
WOW! Amazing work author . Glad to see your entry again.
langstrum: thanks for your advice, except that most surfaces do not reflect that much, and certainly not wood, even super shellacked wood, to have that much reflection a surface would have to have a reflective index of 90+.
Hmm, maybe you misunderstood . I didn't mention about how much reflection we can see (totally agree with you about that), I wanted to say that the reflected images are not correct. I guess that you just flipped vertically the candles and skull for the reflection but actually the reflection would show what you see if you were at the bottom of the objects. Only when the object makes the slope of 45 degree to the surface, the images will be identical. Sorry that I didn't make it clear from the first comment.
I didn't flip. I painted, but yet again. thanks... though I'm not sure what you're talking about. Reflections are not as long as the objects themselves unless viewed from a certain angle.
Great job and the spider over there is great!
Nicely done! Langstrum means that the topside of the candles could never be visible in the reflection. The surface that makes the reflection is at the bottom of the candle, so it cant reflect the topside
I agree with Langstrum and Ressiv on the reflection. You wouldn't see the top inside part of the candle. Although this is an amazing piece of art. Congrats.
I get it now! I was so busy painting I wasn't paying attention to what I was paint. Fixed it,. I couldn't quite understand what Langstrum was talking about. Thanks Langstrum and everyone. *smack forehead"
This is well done , I like the free style you use and subdued tones. Very mystical feel. I don't see magic ,except in the fact you say it is a magic potion ,so it is more of a magic induced image. and that very well could be the magic. gl author ,
Looking forward to more of your work.
LOL I think I just dicovered a bit of magic after I voted ------

congrats.........
Congratulations on your second place! (I'm a little late)
Anna, this is beautiful work. The sketch lines left in sort of look like cobwebs. In traditional painting, that technique was always sort of artsy and appealing. Congrats!
