Mossy, enter a portrait of your own first and then critique on someone else's portrait. Sure this author might need help, but considering you've never entered a single traditional entry yet, I'd say you have no room to talk.

Not to mention, a lot of the traditional artists are children.

There's an unwritten rule in traditional art contests that you just haven't figured out yet. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

When drawing realistically try to avoid thick dark lines which are meant to represent for eg the mouth or nose. But I tjink you will learn over time as most of us do GL

I didn't think Mossy's comment was meant to hurt the authors feelings. Just stating that the ears were a little off, unless the comment was changed. Personally author I think you did a good enough job that I recognized who it was right away. Sure some room for improvement, but that's the fun part being on this site and seeing yourself grow as an artist. =) I'm not even good enough to draw like this yet = )
