Nice one author. Try to render the materials so that there's an obvious texture difference between the metal & the flower. Metal should have higher contrasting tones, some bright whites some dark grays. Use the erases for glints of light on the metal part.
I liked the line of the light bulb in step one: thin and continuous - showed more confidence.
