The largest and most widespread heron in North America, the Great Blue Heron can be found along the ocean shore or the edge of a small inland pond. An all white form is found from southern Florida into the Caribbean, and used to be considered a separate species, the "Great White Heron." (5 years and 3744 days ago)

wow!! this is great!! BTW what is Tortillon author?? never heard of it!!

They are called Blending tortillons, made from rolled paper and you can get them in any art supply store, they come in three sizes, large, medium and small. The have tapered tips and are great help in blending. I tend to just buy them instead of making my own, I always row them to loose.

Sorry, I meant study your drawing to make sure you are keeping it in proportion, didn't use any pictures. My first attempt was a squat heron and looked really funny and no, not showing, I threw it away, lol

MATERIALS: Color pencils drawn on Vellum. This was cut out with scissors and a xacto knife placed on black 90lb card stock. Final piece was scanned at 600 dpi for upload.
I had a great time doing this little project. thats what it's all about anyway! (5 years and 3747 days ago)
