Thank you all. The praying mantis is probably my favorite insect. There is always a place where they can thrive behind our house. They are one of the only insects that can turn their heads as this one did to look at me!

This was done from a composite of two of my old photos(praying mantis) and one I took(wasp) while working on the drawing. I tried to scan for a brighter image, but my camera has better resolution. No camera raw is available to me at the moment to make lighting adjustments. (5 years and 3404 days ago)

If I may, take the drawing and place it on a window and then take a picture of it, it should come out lighter without loosing the lines.

Thanks for the comments. I never got around to the window trick, but I'm sure it would work(I see you know your way around a camera). I finally got cs3 reinstalled after replacing my hard drive and motherboard so I did some adjusting in camera raw. Cheers

In high res, you can see that you drew the picture, then scanned it in and just colored it. You need to fix that before it gets pulled, I would hate to such a nice entry be removed.

@tapiona: this is all digital. i've lost the first steps and the original photoshop data, the only thing i've saved was a jpg. if you look the high res, you wuld see this picture is digital. you should not blame me for this.
