I only used the source image. I used the bottom half of the image to get started.

After I resized the original image I positioned the bottom half and changed the blend mode. Then used the burn tool to help with some of the shadows and the clone stamp tool to finish it up. May not look like much work but it took me a while using the clone stamp tool and burn tool to get the shadows to look the way I wanted them
