Ok you have to bear with me here, because I saved all my step images, but not the text... Black fill for sky, blue for ocean, Shaded the boat part and added the cabin. I'm pretty sure I used the rounded rectangle for the cabin.

added back the stripe, and the railing was done with lil tiny rounded rectangle too, and I made a BUNCH of copies and adjusted each one and the top was done with a stroke on w/ the pen tool.

The water was done with a round brush and smudged.

more water was added using a speckle brush, and more round soft brushes. The smoke stack with a square selection and gradient. Flag pole was a square selection and a round selection, the round selection I used a radial gradient. and manual shading.

I did the flag large, because I knew it would look awful if I did it small and then scaled down. Just made stripes and used the star shape tool in photoshop for the stars. and then I shrank it down and warped. ( was JUST learning warp at this point)

Stripe back on the smoke stack... rop for pole was done with a tiny brush and painted.

Smoke was done w/ soft round brush and smudge. I forgot about the anchor!! It was done much larger too and shrunk down. the chains wer made with the rounded rectangle tool and a stroke and then shaded, and part removed to make them inter lock. More detailing

added the ladder and the life preserver, the ladder was made at that size... ( I think?, I did this last NOV.. it was right after the elections) The life preserve I made much larger and shrunk down.

I added lil tiny shadows and the rivets etc... This is the part that cracks me up the most, that guy is SO tiny and I should have made painted him bigger and shrank him down, but I didn't it was SOOOOO hard to shade that small.
The first time I made this I had painted 3 "lil dudes" and had a crash and lot them all so I had to paint the one lil guy over again, and didn't have time to do the rest... Maybe I should do them again?
