My cornfield photo is set as a background pic. This is its original format
step 2 of 7
The cornfield pic was cropped and I used the hue slide bar to adjust the coloration of it to be closer to the dry sunflower parts. The brightness was also slightly adjusted.
step 3 of 7
The sunflower head was chopped into the field, edges trimmed using soft brushes.
step 4 of 7
Nonflickster's stock photo
step 5 of 7
The chickadee was chopped and flipped horizontally. (forgot to say the cornfield had also been flipped to match the light source)
step 6 of 7
Shadows were added under the bird by duplicating its layer, blackening it, and taking the opacity to 70%. Some shadows were airbrushed onto the flower also.
step 7 of 7
The edges of the bird were detailed by dragging the smudge brush from the down. The background was blurred for depth of field (earlier), and so was the sunflower head because its quality was higher than the bird, which I may change to low res for presentation because the quality suffered from the extent of enlargement.
