Then I doubled the beard area and flipped it and merged it to look like a hairball.

I took the source image of the man and put it behind the hair ball and erased everything but the eyes of the man and nose and just used the mask tool to bring the eyes and nose where I needed them

Here is the face in place with the rest of the man gone

Then I made some free transformation adjustments to start

Then I did some liquefy to give some bit of wavy hair and used the pinch tool for a beak like with the nose - and also used the bloat tool to make the eyes bally and add the beginning of the ears

Then I wanted to give the furby green eyes so I used curves - green tool to make it green and then in versed the curves to then paint in the green eyes

Then I chopped out the mans ear to create the feet for the furby

I added 3 to 4 ears together and then liquefy them

Then Just added a black background with a portion of the shapes tools for the tile 2 on one side and then double it to look mesh like

PS to make the rest of the ears I just used the furball and used the mask and erased around to make the ears - the hair ball behind. Then I just at the end - used more clone - heal - hue/saturation tools and burn tools to adjust color and added in drop shadow
