gutted the baby bed thing, and installed some sweet purple carpet. carpet texture was created by making a purple layer, adding noise, gaussian, monochromatic and then i masked out the shape, and unlinked the masking from the layer. this allows me to change my layer and move it around but the mask will stay locked into position. i then expanded the carpet texture about 4 times its original size. this is so that the fine sand-like noise develops into a more carpet like texture.
step 3 of 10
put in the girl... duh
step 4 of 10
and the doorway... (where the hell do you find a doorway INSIDE a house online? its crazy. i kept getting out doors big hunkin things. and if they were inside it was the wrong angle or they were overly grungy. no thanks!)
step 5 of 10
added shadow on arm using the pen tool. filled in selection with black, and reduced opacity to around 60%
step 6 of 10
added shadow in the back of the room using 2 levels adjustment layers, and masking the part using the pen tool/make selection option. after that, i added a Gaussian blur to the adjustment layer mask. made a selection of that layer, and highlighted the other levels adjustment layer, inverted the selection and masked out that one so that the two would not overlap or look crappy. lol.
step 7 of 10
shes a girl, make it pink... like her... PILLOW! or something.
step 8 of 10
added the monster. strategically placed the eye over the letter, so it is the letter that is making his eye glow red, not his eye actually glowing red. see, its really just a nice design trick i came up with to give the evil illusion of this being staring at you with glowing red eyes, but really, its just the absence of the shadow its self. YAY!
step 9 of 10
made the final light and color adjustments, and sharpened up the image a bit.
NEXT i made the eyes larger, and tweaked the mouth and made it strange. i find that to be quite artistic if you ask me.
