I rotated the source and applied a gausian blur, then filled the background with the dark colour from the source image

I selected the left seed and duplicated it, rotating it and applied a little gaussian blur so that it would appear to be in the foreground.
step 3 of 3
I selected the child, flipped him and resized him to fit the stem. I also had to move his fingers as the stem of the seed was slimmer that the swing he was on. Finally I blurred him a little too and changed the red above his boot to blue
