I only used the reference photo to get the shape of my character every thing else was free had.
step 2 of 14
I filled the large areas in with the paint brush tool and a base color.
step 3 of 14
I added some shading to each basic shape.
step 4 of 14
Here I used the brush tool to add some texture to the fabric of Jack's cloak.
step 5 of 14
I then used the brush tool (very thin) to draw a basic face for Jack.
step 6 of 14
Then I placed the texture I found on CG Textures on the face and set it to overlay, I then duplicated the texture and set it to multiply.
step 7 of 14
For this step I gave the hand some texture the same way I gave the face texture.
step 8 of 14
Here I created a shape over Jack's abdomen and filled it with black. I then gave the layer a gradient overlay to make it look like chrome.
step 9 of 14
For this step I repeated the previous step only this time I created the chrome at Jack's forearm.
step 10 of 14
I then used the pen tool and the brush tool to draw Jack's "finger blades"
step 11 of 14
I then gave the blades some detail using the brush tool and a gradient overlay.
step 12 of 14
I then created a reflection of the hand and blades in his chrome abdomonal plate.
step 13 of 14
For this step I gave the image a background which I found at Morguefile.com, however morguefile does not seem to be up and running right now.
step 14 of 14
In the previous step I created a lens blur on the background image, to create a focal point. In this step I created a reflection on the chrome pieces that Jack is wearing. I also color corrected Jack to make him look as if he fit in the environment.
