Liquify the cat ... give it a wicked smile and play the eyes. I looked in a mirror and tried to mimic the smile i was tryin to do.. did feel abit of a jerk but it helped!!
I also gave the cat a hunched look..

thne i 'burnt' the eyes in

i wanted a shadow so created it

then extended it up

i then refined it with elongating the ears and adding wings

I cut the over laping shadow to alter perspective in colouring..
