after setting the background, i simply created a light source, added one of my photos from NYC as a filter....

this is a view of my light lab and settings; i imported my photo as an image gel, set to "ranged" and adjusted intensity.

top view of my scene, also displaying my sky settings, from which i removed the clouds, set all the fog/haze/etc at black, and set to moonlight instead of sunlight.

my materials lab setting for the ground plane, i didn't add any textures, just lowered the diffusion and increased the reflection to make the light filter bounce....
