Double the canvas size. Take the saved JPEG image of step 6 and paste it into the PSD file.
step 8 of 17
Use the hue-saturation tool on the blue layer of the PSD file to make it red.
step 9 of 17
To make the transition between the red and the blue better, use a marquee to select the area of the transition and create a transparent/white gradient on a new layer. Set that layer's blending to color.
step 10 of 17
I cut the dandelion head from the original image, desaturated it, and blurred it.
step 11 of 17
I duplicated the dandelion 4 times and rotated it 90, 180, and 270 degrees respectively.
step 12 of 17
I merged the 4 flower layers, duplicated them, enlarged them, and rotated by 45 degrees.
step 13 of 17
Repeat step 12.
step 14 of 17
Use glowing edges on all 3 layers. Set the top layer to 100% opacity, the 2nd to 75% opacity, and the 3rd to 50% opacity.
step 15 of 17
I took the bottom layer, duplicated it, enlarged it, rotated it 45 degrees, and set it to 25% opacity from 50%.
step 16 of 17
Merge all 4 layers of the dandelion explosion (of doom) and set them to the Exclusion blending setting.
