This is the reference image from DA

I used the pen tool to vectorize the reference model. Using the eyedropper to select a good skin tone from the photo.

Using the photo as a guide to the shading, I used the dodge and burn tools to add the shading to the flat vector image.

The wings are made of quite a few petals warped into a feather shape then layered one on top of another in the rough shape of a wing.

Here the wings and the dress and the head feather are being shaded and finishing touches added, like colouring the head feather with hue/saturation,

Here I'm placing the body and the constructed wings and skirt together.

Here she is finally constructed and shaded ready for a nice background.

The background is simply a light blue and a yellow colour, layered on top of each other with a large soft brush, then placed behind the biggest daisy.
