This is just a reference from the tools I used.

I copied part of some of the leather and defined a pattern in it. This became the pattern for the mask, which I created from scratch.

Added horns from one of the tools using Warp. Added string in the mask with the pencil tool. Added eyes with lens flare.

Began to make armor with tool parts and the Warp tool. Got a new sample of the leather texture.
step 5 of 9
Warped one of the tools into a sword.
step 6 of 9
Using various warped tools as well as chains (copied over and over again) I finished the armor.
step 7 of 9
I added the background from the flickr image and began touching up the armor.

Used the "Define Pattern" tool a whole bunch to retexture the armor.

Used the dodge and burn tool and did final touchups.
