I selected the finger and duplicated it to create a longer finger, then i placed it into the sand dune image which i previosuly changed to make it look richer and more sand-like.

The finger was duplicated a bunch of times, and blurred to create depth

The crows were added and the colours of all the other bits and bobs were matched.
