In Illustrator I created a new documento and typed "DEMOLITION" using the font named "Impact'. Size 160pt and tracking set to 75.
step 2 of 15
Ctrl+Sift+O to create outlines.
step 3 of 15
Using 'Direct Selection Tool' I selected the first letter. Menu Effet>3D>Extrude & Bevel to create 3D.
step 4 of 15
step 5 of 15
Same process for the rest of the letters, only changing rotation around the X, Y, and Z axes. Document was saved as PSD file.
step 6 of 15
In Photoshop I created a new document, placed the PSD file and rasterized it.
step 7 of 15
I selected the letters faces, created a new layer via copy and changed hue/saturation. Then added texture.
step 8 of 15
step 9 of 15
I created a copy of the word, changed hue/saturation, added texture, Ctrl+clicked the letters faces I created in the previous step to select them, and deleted the face of this word copy.
step 10 of 15
I created a new layer at the bottom, selected about 1/3 of the canvas and made the soil, using cloudes and gaussian blur.
step 11 of 15
Same process for the sky, inverting selection and using motion blur and transform tool too.
step 12 of 15
On two new layers, one at the top and the other above the soil, I made the grass using the default brush named 'dune grass', but changing its size and angle and the foreground and background colours. Burn tool was applied to give depth.
step 13 of 15
On a new layer I worked on the word shadows then.
step 14 of 15
I created a hue/saturation adjustment layer above the sky to change its cyanish colour to blue.
step 15 of 15
On a new layer at the top I merged all layers, duplicated it, applied equalization and gaussian blur. Then overlay blending with 50% opacity was applied.
