Both parts of the source were liquified and warped, highlights and shadows were also changed using the dodge and burn tools to create a more swan-like shape.. still i'm not too happy with it.

The outline of the swan was also extracted

The outline was placed on top of the other swan layer, and the blending mode of the bottom layer was set to Colour Dodge
