Used some planes and a tube for the cave added noise modifier and uv mapped default textures. The plant is made up of planes, spheres and lofted lines.

Made an image in photoshop for the background sky and applied it to a plane in max. Added some lights and a camera.

Lastly I added some fog and rendered it all in vray using the antialiasing blackman filter and caustics on.
