coconuts
Original image
step 1 of 10
I cut out the most regular coconut and using mask I made some corrections.
step 2 of 10
I made a copy of the source image, streteched it to fit my canvas and applied radial blur to it and hue/saturation adjustment layer.
step 3 of 10
I made a copy of the coconut and increased its size.
step 4 of 10
CTRL-Clicked the big coconut and on a new layer underneath I created its shadow, filling the selection with black and applying gaussian blur.
step 5 of 10
Then I applied layer style to the big coconut.
step 6 of 10
I made a copy of the big coconut and its shadow and reduced their size, holding CTRL and SHIFT while reducing it as to keep the centres adjusted.
step 7 of 10
Same process for the next two coconuts. No changes were made to the layer style since its settings change as the object is changed.
step 8 of 10
The other three objects are just copies of the coconut and its shadow that I stretched and flipped and turned around.
step 9 of 10
I placed a texture above the background and applied hard lught blending to it.
step 10 of 10
All layers merged in a new layer at the top, I made a copy of it, equalized it and applied soft light blending to the copy with 50% opacity.
