Two pieces of rusty metal are selected with lasso tool to be used for dog and leash
step 6 of 21
Liquify has been used to get general figure of a dog. I decided at this point that a daschund would work well with colors of rust.
step 7 of 21
More work with liquify to create the dog using small brush with medium softness.
step 8 of 21
Nose and legs and feet are formed now, still using liquify tool.
step 9 of 21
Girl is moved into restaurant background which has been started on a new canvas. She has been selected with lasso tool and will be chopped using the eraser tools at closeup view.
step 10 of 21
Dog is moved into scene and scaled to fit.
step 11 of 21
Iron piece to be used for leash is moved in and will be shaped with distort tool (edit/transform/distort)
step 12 of 21
First cat is formed with liquify tools from rust source.
step 13 of 21
Cat is further shaped using brush for drawing, and smudge and eraser tools. I will try to keep some of the design of the iron for the cat's fur pattern.
step 14 of 21
Cat is now moved into scene with girl and will have more work on details.
step 15 of 21
Another cat is duplicated using 'alt' key, and is inserted into scene and scaled to get size wanted. Another cat will also be dupllicated, and one of them will be flipped horizontally (edit/transform/flip horiz) and changed in color with color/balance tool.
step 16 of 21
Now a white piece of 'rust' source is used to form another cat. It will be started with liquify as first cat was.
step 17 of 21
More work has been done on white cat with brush for drawing, smudge and eraser tools. In drawing, I tried to get a position of legs so that cat could be placed hanging over the edge of something, and a face with a comical look. This will probably be done to the original cat later.
step 18 of 21
Cats have been moved, and may be moved again in an effort to add interest and balance to the scene.
step 19 of 21
A red hat and glasses have been added to the girl, and the some of the background has been cropped to bring viewer closer to 'action'.
step 20 of 21
Black and white cat is having more work on features and will be added to canvas, being tried in various locations. I finally decided on the flower stand just in front of the girl. When all cats are placed, some shadows can be added using the burn tool set in a soft setting.
step 21 of 21
Final entry has had more attention to shadows throughout, and cats faces refined, especially the two closest to girl. Dogs face has had more 'punch' by darkening eyes and darkening body with burn tool to give it more dimension.
