Liquify tool is used as first step in creating background. Interesting shapes - swirls mixing colors in interesting ways.
step 2 of 15
Glass filter and pixelate filter are added.
step 3 of 15
Mezzitint filter is now added
step 4 of 15
Hue and saturation are changed to get desired color.
step 5 of 15
'Bud' on source is lassoed and moved over new background. (Background was zoomed in on and cropped to use part of design that I liked) Bud is now duplicated to begin flower shape.
step 6 of 15
Ring is formed with chopped bud shapes, then merged into a ring. This ring is then duplicated, rotated slightly a couple times, with rings on top of each other (slightly smaller each time) to form flower.
step 7 of 15
A Seed pod from source is removed and chopped to use for center portion of flower. It will be duplicated and formed into a ring, merged together with other rings for completed flower.
step 8 of 15
A dried blossom from source is lassoed and is color changed for center of flower. After chopping, it will be duplicated and formed into a circle using edit/rotate tool. This same 'flower' will be used later to create the pink flowers.
step 9 of 15
Larger flowers are now duplicated and changed in size (edit/scale) and some are flipped horizontally, some rotated, and also changed using the edit/distort tool.
step 10 of 15
Liquify is used to 'pull' leaves out of stems and also to shape the stems into more graceful stems for flowers.
step 11 of 15
Pink center used in center of large flowers are grouped over stems. They are sized with edit/scale tool to be smaller at top, and some will be distorted to slightly change their direction. Large flowers with their pink centers are arranged on their stems. They will be shaded with burn tool, and later color changed.
step 12 of 15
Blue butterfly by Clinge at pxleyes.com is chopped from source and will be used for all butterflies by editing the scale, distorting shapes, and color changing with hue//saturation tool.
step 13 of 15
Here butterflies in variations have been added.
step 14 of 15
Lavender and blue filter layers have been added to give background more distinction from foreground layers.
step 15 of 15
Here at the final stages, I decided to change the yellow-green flowers to blue which seemed to work better with the blue butterflies. I moved some of the butterflies behind the filter layers, added a couple small ones which I changed to pink with hue/saturation tool, and put a gaussian blur on larger butterflies.
