here is the large cog to start the eye areas then I used a smudge tool for the eyeballs with burn and dodge tool
step 4 of 13
Here I added the face parts together
step 5 of 13
then I took some of the golder piece and free transformed and burned for the bottom mouth piece
step 6 of 13
then I used the same cog part chopped out to free transform and duplicate a body
step 7 of 13
I chopped out a round circle from the darker area of the picture and liquefied it to make the pant parts again with some burn tools
step 8 of 13
Here is the liquefied pant part
step 9 of 13
Here is another portion used for the chin as before
step 10 of 13
Then I chopped out only the top portion of the cog for the arms and feet
step 11 of 13
added in the arm and masked it in 3 parts and then took a small piece of the cog and free transformed it to make a hand
step 12 of 13
then I took this part again and opened up the pattern maker and selected the entire cog here to make the pattern for behind
step 13 of 13
Here is the result of the pattern
and then I just used this for a background and also distorted another one of these for the platform for the bug girl and gave it some burn and added the original cog picture into the right side of the pattern to make it look a bit different
