Source photo of Circle of Light by mensatic at morguefile.com
step 2 of 11
Girl source is duplicated with alt key, then scaled down to fit on circle on book. Scaling is done with edit/transform/scale tool.
step 3 of 11
Duplicate of girl is rotated using the edit/transform/rotate tool so that it fits the angle of the book.
step 4 of 11
Girl is placed in center of the circle, then opacity is cut back to 32% so that you can see where to erase edges. Using erase airbrush set at 30% the edges can be removed up to the circle, then opacity is set back to 100% to bring picture back.
step 5 of 11
Here the edges have been erased and merged into the circle.
step 6 of 11
Canvas is enlarged here, the New portion is airbrushed with a dark blue/black and color will gradually change lighter going toward center.
step 7 of 11
Gray tone is airbrush coming toward center at 33% pressure.
step 8 of 11
A smaller version of circle just completed is duplicated with alt key and then scaled down to fit circle on book that our source girl is holding.
step 9 of 11
A still small version of source is scaled even smaller for next book.
step 10 of 11
Text with Garamond font is added, then set at an arched shape to follow circle. This will be duplicate, then rotated for other 3 'sides' of circle.
step 11 of 11
Finally, the layers are merged and a warm filter is placed over all. The opacity of this filter can be adjusted as desired.
