First i cut and paste the continents so i the could be played around with. when i found the right spot i used transform warp toll to make it more like a heart shape

then i created the shape for the planet and added shadow and highlight for a more sphere look.

step 3 i used source image 2 to add clouds and more dynamic to the planet. blending mode is Lighter Color

in step 4 i created some current in the water that helps to highlight the heart shape around the continents as well shadow for the part thats not suppose to be highlighted by the star above.

step 5 i added some city light with brush tool to really show the effect of night.

stars are added using brush tool and some filter blur effect

final step i add some more stars using monochrome noise and filter out some with levels and blur.
cosmic clouds is added as well with clouds and different clouds.
the burst behind the planet and in front of the star is added by using radial blur on already existing cosmic clouds and stars
